On The Road (USA, 2012)

Facts: Directed by Walter Salles.

Fiction: Dean and Sal are the portrait of the Beat Generation. Their search for “It” results in a fast paced, energetic roller coaster ride with highs and lows throughout the U.S.

What I didn’t get: Why adapt such an unconventional book in such an academic way.

What I got: A nice road movie in a bygone America with strong acting, but that lacks rhythm and originality, preferring to focus on the story rather than the pace of the Kerouac’s book.
